Leaving Ha Noi, you drive through rural countryside to the 10th century capital of Hoa Lu to navigate the river’s limestone outcrops by rowboat. Also to be seen are ancient temples and many magnificent grottoes that make up the charming area of Tam Coc. Return to Ha Noi for overnight train journey to Lao Cai.

Arriving in Lao Cai at about 6:30am, transfer up to French former hill station, Sa Pa and check in before enjoying a relaxed breakfast. Then time to discover this bustling market town at your own pace. In the afternoon a walk to Cat Cat village and a chance to enjoy the hospitality of its friendly locals

A relaxed walk through the pristine mountain scenery of Lao Chai and Ta Van Valley is offers great photo opportunities of Mount Fansipan, the landscape and daily activities of the hill tribe people. You then drive down to Lao Cai to catch the overnight train to Ha Noi

Arriving in Ha Noi early morning, you will transfer to a restaurant for breakfast before driving on to Ha Long Bay. Boarding your junk and enjoy a welcome drink followed by a seafood lunch while cruising through the bay. You also explore one of the beautiful grottoes, swim and maybe try some night fishing.

You can have an early morning swim and enjoy a brunch while cruising to the harbour. On the way to Noi Bai Airport, you stop at Dong Trieu ceramic village and see artisans create superb vases and other masterpieces using century’s old skills. You then take a flight to Hue and the rest of the time is free at your leisure

A boat cruise on the Perfume River takes you to the most revered Pagoda of Thien Mu and on to the tomb of King Ming Mang, followed by a tour of the Imperial Citadel before leaving for Da Nang, where you stop at the Cham Sculpture Museum before driving on to merchant town of Hoi An

Walking through the historic Hoi An, you admire the narrow lanes of centuries old buildings; visit the town’s market and the impressive Japanese covered bridge. The afternoon is free to explore this charming town or having a relaxing swim at beautiful Cua Dai Beach.

This morning is free to wander through the town, which was once a flourishing port during Nguyen dynasty until transferring to the airport in Da Nang for your flight to Nha Trang. Meet your guide and transfer to the hotel. The evening is free at your leisure.

Visit the 9th century Po Nagar Tower and tour the Oceanographic Institute’s collection of aquatic flora and fauna. Then cruise the islands dotted turquoise waters of Nha Trang Bay and enjoy a sumptuous seafood lunch at the Mieu Island before heading back to the harbour.

Leaving Nha Trang behind, you fly to Ho Chi Minh City, the Viet Nam’s commercial heart and largest city. The remainder to the day is free to walk around Ho Chi Minh City’s exciting Ben Thanh Market and try your bargaining skill at the city’s many shop lined streets

Today you explore the city’s historic landmarks including Notre Dame Cathedral, the General Post Office and the former US Embassy. You will also experience the excitement of trading activities in Cho Lon, Ho Chi Minh City’s Chinatown. In the afternoon you explore the phenomenal underground tunnel network at Cu Chi.

Travelling to Mekong Delta, you enjoy a stunning overnight cruise through a part of this mighty river and explore the lively Cai Be floating market and explore the maze of waterways, stop to visit the handicraft villages, meet the locals, see their old house and savour fresh tropical fruits

Enjoying the magnificent sunrise on Hau Giang River while witnessing the daily activities of the Mekong Delta’ inhabitants come to life. You set sail to Can Tho through tributaries and canals where a small boat will take you to Cai Rang floating market before travelling back to Ho Chi Minh City
