Arrive in Lao Cai at about 6:30am, and transfer up to former French hill station of Sa Pa in time for breakfast. Then head out to explore this bustling market town at your own pace. In the afternoon walk to Cat Cat village and enjoy the hospitality of its friendly locals

An easy walk through the pristine mountain scenery of Lao Chai and Ta Van Valley presents great photo opportunities for Mount Fansipan and daily activities of the hill tribe people. In the afternoon climb up Ham Rong Mountain for a wonderful view over Sa Pa

This day is free to wander the vivid market place before driving down to Lao Cai and the Chinese border, visiting the village of Ta Phin and some of the local house which offers a chance to mingle with the Red Dzao villagers. Then board your overnight train for returning to Ha Noi

Arriving in Ha Noi in early morning, transfer to a restaurant for breakfast before driving to Ha Long. Board your junk and enjoy a welcome drink followed by a seafood lunch served while cruising through the bay. You also have time to explore one of the beautiful grottoes, swim and maybe try some night fishing

More swimming in the morning before brunch enjoyed while you cruise to the harbour. On our trip back to Ha Noi stop at Dong Trieu ceramic village to see artisans create superb vases and other masterpieces using centuries old skills. Upon arriving in Ha Noi, you have free time at your leisure
