SIEM REAP

A glorious highpoint of history, the ancient Khmer remains of Angkor and Siem Reap are one of the most incredible sights on the planet. The great Khmer civilization reached its zenith between the 9th and 14th centuries, with their architectural feats culminating in the magnificent Angkor Wat, deservedly one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Some one hundred temples survive and are being sensitively restored, although recently concerns have been voiced about the damage tourism is inflicting on these stunning ruins.
