Terms & Conditions

1. Reservations

Bookings can be made directly to Discover East or through your travel agent.

2. Deposit

Upon confirmation of your booking, a non refundable deposit is payable to Discover East within five working days and those made less than 60 days prior to departure, this must be paid within one working day, as follows:

  • Tours or arrangements that cost less than USD2,000 per person – USD300 per person per trip
  • Tours or arrangements that cost from USD2,000 per person or more – USD400 per person per trip

Once a deposit is received, it is understood that you have read and accept all Terms and Conditions outlined.

3. Balance 

You must pay the balance for the booked trip to Discover East not less than 30 days prior to your arrival.

Failure to pay in full by this due date may result in the cancellation of your booking.

If your booking is made less than 30 days prior to departure, or you have booked tours and arrangements that cost less than USD2,000 per person, you must provide full payment upon receiving our confirmation and the completed Booking Form must also be sent to us immediately. Your booking cannot be accepted or confirmed until we have received your full payment and the Booking Form.

4. Cancellation 

Cancellation must be received in writing and will be subject to the following cancellation fees applied per person, per arrangement:

  • Less than 60 days before departure – Lost of deposit
  • 60 – 45 days before departure – 25% of tour or service price whichever is the greater
  • 44 – 30 days before departure – 50% of tour or serice price or USD600 whichever is the greater
  • Within 30 days before departure – 100% of tour or serice price
5. Refunds

No partial refund will be given for unused or cancelled services after your tour arrangements have commenced.

6. Departure 

After sending you the final confirmation, our departure is guaranteed and it is strictly based on the number of participants you booked. 

7. Cancelled trips

Discover East reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any trip in accordance of operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. Should it occur, we will offer you alternative arrangements. If there is a difference in cost, this shall be for your account. If you do dot accept this alternative arrangement, we may treat this contract as at an end. We will refund all monies and will then be under no further liability.

8. Amendments 

No amendments to your trip will be processed until the deposit has been received. Up to 60 days prior to departure, one amendment per booking is allowed free of charge. Discover East reserves the right to

charge for subsequent permitted amendments, as follows:

  • More than 60 days before departure – USD50 per amendment
  • Less than 60 days before departure – USD100 per amendment

These amendment charges are in addition to any charges passed on to us by any suppliers such as airlines, hotels

or other service providers and tour operators.

9. Validity 

Our programs, services, prices and conditions are correct at the time of publication but is subject to change. Therefore, we reserve the right to amend them without notice at any time and for the most accurate information and sharpest pricing, please be sure to confirm the details of your requirements when you book.

Airfares – Separate terms and conditions will apply to your airfares. It is your responsibility to carefully read and understand the terms and conditions that relate to the airfare that has been arranged by you and contact the relevant airline if you require further information. In case your airfare has been issued by Discover East, we are responsible to give you full information related to your flight. Cancellation and refund policies associated with airfares vary according to airfare terms and conditions and the relevant airline. Discounted airfares are often non-refundable and non-changeable after ticket issue. Depending on the reason for airfare cancellation and the type of insurance policy you possess, air cancellation fees may be recoverable from your insurance company.

You understand that at no time are you entering into a contract with us for the supply of air travel and you must not make a claim against us in this regard.

10. Passport & Visa

It is your responsible to have a passport which is valid for at least 6 months after your arrival. Entrance visa is also required for almost all visitors who travel to Viet Nam, Cambodia and Laos. Please contact our Embassies or consulates in your country on time before departure or ask us for help. Viet Nam entry visa can be obtained at the airports upon arrival with pre-processing. Cambodia and Laos grant their visas to visitors at most international airports and border crossings after filling an application form and paying a small fee.

Insurance – Insurance is not included in your tour cost. Passengers are strongly advised to have full travel

insurance in the country of origin before departure.

11. Responsibilities

Please note that Discover East acts as agents only for the companies providing transport,

accommodation or other services. Therefore, our responsibilities are subject to the terms and conditions under which transportation and services are offered. Some of these providers or suppliers limit or exclude their liability. One of the highlights of travelling with Discover East will be your interaction with the people of the country that you are visiting and the members of your group. Such interaction should be based on respect for the culture, rights and opinions of others. Discover East reserves the right to terminate the provision of services to passengers deemed by either our tour guide or management to be behaving in a manner which might cause serious offence, be in breach of the law, or threatened the safety or significant compromise the enjoyment of fellow travellers. All possible care is taken to ensure suppliers maintain high standards. However, as we do not control the airlines, car operators or hotels, we cannot be responsible and will make no refund in the event of any delay, cancellation, overbooking, strike, force majeure or other cause beyond its direct control and will have no responsibility for any additional expense, omissions, delays, re-routing or acts of any government or authority. However, we will endeavour to ensure the departure of your selected tour date. We also reserves the right to cancel the tour prior to departure or to apply a surcharge to recover the costs of operating the programme should the group size fall below the actual

number that our pricing has based on.

Participation on any tours implies full agreement to the above conditions by all parties involved.
